It’s a fantastic pattern when you want an easy relaxing project. It’s a really warm cowl with a beautiful dense ‘knit’ like fabric, especially when doubled or tripled around your neck, instructions for three sizes given. Basic crochet knowledge needed. Chain, single crochet stitches used throughout.

Materials Used:  

Lichen and Lace, 1ply Superwash Merino Fingering Weight, 400 yards in 100 grams or similar in various colours

• 66g for small single wrap cowl

• 132g for medium double wrap cowl

• 200g for large triple wrap cowl

I used 100g main colour and 4 x 25g of secondary colours for the large triple wrap cowl

Hook Size 3.5mm

Any weight yarn is fine for this project, please use the appropriate size hook. Please note the following finished size and tension measurements will not apply. Get creative with your colour choices and textures or use up yarn from your stash.  

Finished Size: 5”/13cm wide x 31”/80cm deep before joining for a short single wrap cowl, 62”/160cm deep for a double wrap cowl, or 93”/240cm deep for a triple wrap cowl.

Tension: 5 completed full pattern rows  = 10”/13cm wide x 1”/2.5cm high. Tension is not crucial for this project, but variations will affect yardage and final measurements.
